BAD-NYC2The Digital Art & Design program aims to provide opportunities for learning, teaching, and excellence in design and digital media for creative professionals. Our goal is to train creative professionals to work across a range of media for a host of clients.  Students learn the basics of design for print, the web, and video in a collaborative and creative environment offering real-world experience with complex projects.  Opportunities abound for graphic designers, web developers, animators, multimedia specialists, filmmakers, photographers, video producers and editors and all creative types with an entrepreneurial bent.

The Digital Art & Design program at the SVHEC has been offering courses at the center since the fall of 2008 when Business of Art & Design Coordinator Ben Capozzi began teaching Graphic Arts I to fifteen Halifax County High School students.  Since that time, more than 200 students of nearly all ages have enjoyed Digital Art & Design classes at the high school, college, adult-non-credit, senior, and even pre-teen-levels!

Students have achieved initial success in the program, including a feature in Layers Magazine. Layers is a national design publication for all things Adobe.
